Job duties include providing daily supervision to employees and completing performance reviews. This will require counseling/disciplining of employees as needed and documentation of their action. Must work with park planner to set priorities for construction of major projects and sets the direction for the master plan. Position will require knowledge of budgets for operations, resale facilities, special projects and extra help. Applicant will be in-charge of monitoring park expenditures and managing within an approved budget. The Park Superintendent IV participates with a planning team to develop programs and facilities, alter procedures, determine revenue sources, and cost containment ideas.
This position organizes and coordinates special events with community leaders and local media and establishes and develops working relationships with other agencies such as local law enforcement, nearby landowners, etc. Applicant will have daily contact with the public and must possess excellent public relations skills.
A valid driver’s license is required, as is the ability to traverse rough terrain. A criminal background check will be performed.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal educational equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, or a related field; plus five years of experience in park activities, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
