World Ranger Day is celebrated annually worldwide on July 31st to commemorate Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet's natural treasures and cultural heritage.
The 2024 World Ranger Day Honor Roll recognizes the 140 ranger deaths in the line of duty from June 2023 - May 2024, ranging primarily in animal attacks, homicide, and occupational accidents. Only one death occurred in North America during this period.
