One of the primary roles of a state park leader is the protection, utilization and interpretation of the land we have been charged with as stewards. As stewards of our nation’s public land do, we really understand how these lands came to be. Their role, so many questions.
Join us and our renowned guest Walt Dabney retired Chief Ranger for the National Park Service, Park Superintendent, and also the retired Director of Texas State Parks, about the origin of public lands, their link to the US Constitution and the challenges facing public lands today. Walt will tie in the creation of US Forest Service, National Park Service and the importance that we play as stewards of America’s State Parks in the viability of public lands today.
