This position manages the operation of all facilities and grounds at Lake Charles State Park. These facilities include a visitor center, day use area, 61 campsites and support facilities, hiking trails, sewer treatment plant, pavilions, playgrounds, and all utilities.

Duties include completing performance appraisals, preparing, and approving work schedules, maintaining performance files, working on a team to plan the development of Lake Charles State Park, performing law enforcement duties, presenting presentations to the public regarding Lake Charles and the Arkansas State Park system, and other duties as assigned. This position should have the ability to meet and work with the public daily and have good public relations skills. A valid driver’s license is requiring and the ability to traverse uneven and somewhat rough terrain. This position requires that the superintendent be certified as a law enforcement officer thought the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy or be able to complete the Academy within 1 year of employment.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: the formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, recreation administration, or a related field plus three years of progressively more responsible experience in park management, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
