This position will serve as the Deputy Director of North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department. This is a full-time senior level position that reports to the Director of the Department. This position is responsibile for the oversight of operations and project management including capital development, extraordinary repairs, and land holdings. In addition, the deputy director will work on the department’s strategic plans. The position also serves as a member of the Department Leadership Team and will have a supervisory role.
North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department's mission is to offer a diversity of recreation opportunities and sustainable manage resources. The department manages 15 parks and recreation areas that have statewide or regional significance. The department also has responsibility for the off-highway vehicle planning and safety program, snowmobile safety programs and trails, Nature Preserves Act, outdoor recreation grants and statewide recreation planning. The department contributes to the state´s economic vitality and ensures citizens and visitors of all generations have a memorable experience in North Dakota’s parks and recreation areas. The department has 61.5 full time employees and hires approximately 180 seasonal employees.
